Opened in July 2008, The Grand Mauritian Resort, a luxury Collection Resort & Spa, encapsulates the simple and romantic feel of Mauritius, but in a contemporary and luxurious style. Much use of wood and thatching also adds to the laid back tropical feeling.

Located on the north west coast of the island, the resort is situated on the dramatic coastline of Turtle Bay which offers a stunning combination of sandy beach and ancient volcanic rock. The shoreline of the Grand Mauritian is a quarter of a mile of beach and secluded bathing areas. Two natural basalt-rock pools provide the perfect safe areas for bathing for the family while the rest of the shore is a mixture of sandy beach and shady retreats.

Accommodation is individual villas comprising Deluxe Rooms, Courtyard Junior Suites and other suites. The guest rooms are modern yet classical and stylish in design and offer the latest amenities. Most have patios with spectacular views of the sea and coastline with its own natural reef.

The Grand Mauritian has three restaurants: Season, the main restaurant; the speciality Brezza; plus a pool side restaurant called Reflection. The resort also features three bars, a wine cellar and a cigar bar.

There are two swimming pools, one of which is the largest hotel pool on the island, the 'Explorers' children’s club, variety of water sports, boutiques and shops. The Mandara Spa offers a comprehensive range of therapies and treatments.
