This stunning hotel is situated in the former sugar estate of Bel Ombre on the south coast of Mauritius. Nestled between the lush green slopes of the new championship golf course and the inviting waters of the Indian Ocean, the resort is set in beautiful tropical gardens.

The Citronniers River winds its way through Le Telfair and rustic stone bridges and water fountains create a romantic and serene ambiance.

Designed to recapture the past history of the area, the resort has been created in a Colonial style and this is most noticeable in the spacious, elegant guestrooms where the furniture is inspired by the French period. Set in twenty villa style buildings, most rooms face the sea while others enjoy a view of the river and the mountains beyond.

The choice of five restaurants within the resort including The Chateau de Bel Ombre. Built in the 19th century and lovingly restored, the Chateau borders the golf course and is open for informal lunches and elegant dinners.

The wealth of facilities at Le Telfair include the ‘Six Senses Spa’. Here, an extensive range of treatments can be taken in a haven of peace with just the sounds of fountains and streams flowing though luxuriant vegetation. A variety of sporting activities are available including water sports and tennis; the golf course is accessible from the resort by golf cart via a private pathway.

For lovers of flora and fauna the Bel Ombre nature reserve is close by and spreads over 3,500 acres. Mountain biking and quad VTT can be arranged.

ROOMS

158 air-conditioned rooms and suites with ceiling fan, bathroom with separate bath and walk-in shower, hairdryer, dressing area, satellite TV, mini bar, tea/coffee facilities, safe and balcony or terrace. Junior Suites have a hexagonal shaped lounge area and a larger verandah. All ground floor suites have an outside shower.
